Hoover reinstates bus service for 2014

The Hoover Board of Education unanimously voted Monday night to reinstate bus service for the 2014-2015 school year.

In the summer, the board voted to terminate bus service for budget concerns. The city took a lot of criticism about the decision from its residents and those outside the city. Soon after, the state of Alabama and U.S. Department of Justice were involved.

The decision was assisted by the state's intention to{} help fund the bus service although there could be a charge per bus rider. If the state offers additional funding, the rider's fee may be waived.
