The City of Hoover is on the move. That's the message by Mayor Gary Ivey.
He presented his state of the city address to the Hoover Chamber of Commerce on Thursday at the Hoover Country Club.
Mayor Ivey listed some of this year's accomplishments, including a balanced budget and the opening of the Patton Chapel extension.
The mayor also announced an expansion of Highway 31, adding a lane to each side that will run from I-459 past the Galleria and down to Data drive.
"We got a lot of stuff on-board on the table right now. We're really excited about 2014. Things kind of slow down around the holidays. It's kind of hard to get people together. But we have lot of new stuff on board," says Ivey.
Mayor Ivey also spoke about some improvements coming to the Galleria mall. Including an upgrade for Belk, making it a flagship store.
