Hospital bills differ depending on location

When it comes to hospital bills, where you live could make a difference in how much you are charged.

For example, if you have a heart attack in Danville, Arkansas you're looking at a little more than three grand. In California, it's more like $92,000.

The Department of Health and Human Services studied the 100 most popular in patient procedures for Medicare recipients. This research is important because Medicare, like most insurance companies, doesn't pay 100% of hospital costs and this could leave the under and uninsured patients in deep debt.

Health and Human Services is hoping to make all this data more user friendly to help consumers.
