Hospitals making progress in safety of patients

Hospital patients have a right to expect quality care, and that includes patient safety. A new survey by Leapfrog Group's Hospital Safety Score shows hospitals are making steady improvements toward preventing medication mistakes, falls, and infections.Nearly one-third of the 2500 hospitals surveyed have seen a ten percent or higher improvement in performance since 2012. Some of the nation's more well known hospitals, however, continue to have safety concerns in these areas.Locally, Brookwood Hospital, Princeton Baptist, and St. Vincent's each received an "A" for hospital safety. Trinity Hospital earned a "B" ranking. St. Vincent's East and University of Alabama hospital each received a "C" ranking for hospital safety.{}{} {}{}
