At first, neighbors saw flames coming from the right side of the house around eight o'clock Tuesday night. A tree also caught fire. Neighbors believed the owner was inside because her car was parked out in front. But, she and her dog were somewhere else. One neighbor says it's the third fire that has happened in this community. They're glad no one was hurt tonight.
Battalion Chief Donald Jones says, "When there's a vehicle out in front of the house you have to assume somebody's in there. We ask residents out here watching and they didn't really know, so we have to go with the fact that she may be in there.Roger Jones lives across the street from the house that caught fire. "All we can say is thank God she wasn't home. We were terrified through the ordeal because her car was in the front yard and usually when her car is home, she's home"The house does have heavy smoke and water damage. Firefighters are still trying to determine a cause.
