Hueytown officer catches unusual intruder

Police aren't just catching criminals. Some are also responding to calls about animal intruders. Earlier this week, a Hueytown officer got called out to catch a snake.Hueytown police were called about a snake in a toilet. The police chief says Officer Thompson was the one to answer the call. The officer found the snake making its way under the toilet lid into the bowl. She removed what the chief identified as a cottonmouth. He says the venomous snake had "substantial fangs."The snake was taken back to the department alive.
