ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ala. -- Interstate 20 East remains closed early Wednesday morning after an accident involving four tractor trailers shut down all eastbound lanes Tuesday afternoon, the St. Clair County EMA said.

According to the EMA, the crash occurred near the Moody exit, causing traffic to back up for miles. The wrecked trucks remain on the interstate and emergency workers aren't sure when the eastbound lanes will be cleared.

Another accident involving three tractor trailers caused major traffic congestion on I-20 West near Chula Vista, though, the EMA said the accident should be cleared within the next couple of hours. Shortly after 2 a.m., one lane had been reopened.{}

No injuries were reported in either crash.
