Indictment handed down in Auburn shooting case

An indictment has been handed down in the case of six people shot in Auburn.

A grand jury indicted 22-year old Desmonte Leonard for capital murder, first degree assault, two counts of attempted murder and two counts of second degree assault.

Leonard is accused of using a .40 caliber pistol to kill 3 people and wound 3 others at a pool party in an apartment complex on June 9, 2012. Former Auburn football players Edward Christian and Ladarious Phillips were killed, along with DeMario Pitts of Opelika. Current Auburn football player Eric Mack and two Roanoke men, Xavier Miss and John Robertson were wounded.

No trial date has been set in the case.
