Interviews begin for Jefferson county school superintendent

Interviews to select a new superintendent for Jefferson county schools begin Monday afternoon.

Five candidates are vying for the post now held by Dr. Phil Hammonds. Hammonds will retire in February, 2013.

The first candidate to be interviewed is Dr. Stephen Nowlin, Superintendent of Lee county schools in Opelika, Alabama.

Each interview is open to the public and begins at 2:00 p.m. at the Jefferson county central office{}
