Jacksonville man killed, Anniston man injured in head-on collision in Calhoun County

A Jacksonville man was killed and an Anniston man was injured in a head-on collision early Friday morning in Calhoun County, Alabama State Troopers said.

Jed Dautenhahn, 39, was pronounced dead on the scene after the 1991 Honda he was driving collided with a 1999 Ford pickup truck being driven by 58-year-old Lester Ledlow on County Road 109 shortly after 5 a.m.

According to state troopers, Dautenhahn wasn't wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, which occurred approximately four miles north of Anniston. Ledlow was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

An investigation remains ongoing.
