Jacksonville State football will open at Michigan State in 2014

      Jacksonville State is ready to challenge the Rose Bowl champs.

      The school announced that it will open the 2014 football season against Michigan State in East Lansing.

      The Spartans celebrated a Rose Bowl win over Stanford in January and finished the season No. 3 in the FBS college football rankings.

      JSU is an FCS program and is expected to carry a top 10 ranking into 2014. It went 11-4 and reached the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs in 2013.
