Jasper man charged with Attempted Murder in Hoover burglary
Hoover Police have charged a Jasper man with multiple crimes after he broke into a home and assaulted a resident.
Police were called to a home at the 3400 block of Hurricane Road Wednesday at approximately 11 p.m. after receiving reports of two adult males fighting inside the residence. Upon their arrival, officers took 54-year-old Kerry Lewis Aderholt into custody, determining that he had unlawfully entered the victim's home.
Aderholt was found in possession of drugs, a handgun and a wooden baseball bat. He allegedly used the bat to strike a 42-year-old acquaintance in the head during the altercation, causing a laceration. The victim has since been treated and released from the hospital.
Aderholt is charged with 1st Degree Burglary, Attempted Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth). His bond for all three charges totals $350,000.
Aderholt was held in the Hoover City Jail before being transferred Friday morning to the Jefferson County Jail.
