Jasper woman, 89, dies from injuries sustained in Wednesday's accident
A Jasper woman injured Wednesday in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 69 has died, Alabama State Troopers said today.
Ellie Allred Key, 89, was pronounced deceased Friday at UAB Hospital.
Key was a passenger in a 1995 Dodge Ram pickup truck when it left the highway and hit a tree five miles north of Jasper. The driver, Charlene Painter, was also transported to UAB to be treated for injuries though her condition has not been released.
Troopers say an investigation remains ongoing.
