Jefferson County car owners could finally see shorter tag lines. Monday morning, mayors interested in providing car tag renewals for its citizens will meet with state officials.
The group will discuss what needs to be done to set up a car tag renewal program inside city halls. A big concern in the past has been the price.
Representative Paul DeMarco, (R) Homewood, will also be there. He passed the bill allowing for cities to issue renewals last year. It went into effect in January.
Current car tag waits average several hours.
