Jeremy Pruitt takes defensive coordinator job at Georgia

Jeremy Pruitt has agreed to become the new defensive coordinator at Georgia.

The former Alabama assistant and Florida State defensive coordinator will replace Todd Grantham.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution was first to report the story.

Pruitt's new job comes with a significant pay raise. He'll reportedly made $850,000 in his role at Georgia. His salary at FSU was $540,000.

Florida State led the FCS in scoring defense last season, allowing just over 12 points a game on it's way to winning the BCS national title.

Georgia will be Pruitt's third college coaching stop since 2007. Before that, he served as defensive coordinator at Hoover High School.
