JSU hires Clark to lead football program

The coach who led Prattville High School footballto two state championships and a national number 2 ranking in 2007 has beentabbed as the new head football coach at Jacksonville State University.{} Clark has been the defensive coordinator atUniversity of South Alabama since 2008.{}USA's defense proved to be one of the best in the Sun Belt Conference finishingsecond in total defense in 2012.

Clark takes over a Gamecock program thatfinished with a 6-5 overall record and was 5-3 in the OVC.

"Our vision and mission are winningconference championships and advancing to the postseason on a regular basis andwe feel like Bill Clark brings the experience and skills to help us achieve ourgoals," said Warren Koegel, JSU Athletic Director. {}"When you look at the success that Bill hasenjoyed in our state, both on the collegiate and high school levels, we feellike he is the perfect fit to be our head football coach," Koegel added.

Clark will be formally introduced Wednesday at 4p.m. on the fifth floor of the Stadium Club at JSU Stadium.
