Arraignments set in JSU hazing case


{} {} Six men will be arraigned next month on assault and hazing charges stemming from an incident at Jacksonville State University last year.{} {} A complaint claims that men attempting to join Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity were beaten and forced to drink large amounts of alcohol in November 2011.{} {} The alleged hazing lasted about four hours, and one pledge was hospitalized for 24 days. {}The incident resulted in the fraternity being banned from the northeast Alabama campus.{} {} The men charged in the case are set for an arraignment hearing in Calhoun County on Dec. 20. They range in age from 21 to 24 years old.{} {} All six men are charged with misdemeanor hazing. Four of the six also are charged with assault.
