Judge reduces Richard Scrushy's prison time

A federal judge reduced the prison sentence of former HealthSouth, CEO, Richard Scrushy in Montgomery Wednesday.{} {}U.S. District Judge Mark Fuller re sentenced Scrushy to 70 months in prison.{} The original sentence was 82 months. Some of his fees were also waived.{} Scrushy has already served more than four years in prison. He will serve the remaining 16 months in Texas.{}

Judge Mark Fuller's decision was influenced by Scrushy's good behavior in prison. Fuller said, " I feel you are a different person today.{} You have paid a tremendous debt to society."

Scrushy and former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman were convicted of government corruption in 2006.
