ETOWAH COUNTY - AL — Medical workers who responded to the death of a nine year old child, will be able to testify during the trial of her grandmother. The defense requested to block emergency medical responders from testifying during the capital murder trial of 49 year old Joyce Garrard. But a judge denied that request Monday.Prosecutors say Garrard made 9 year old Savannah Hardin run as punishment, in 2012, after she lied about eating chocolate. She collapsed and died at Garrard's Etowah County home. The trial is set for September 22.
