Judging Santa's helpers with a hohoho

It's not always easy being the jolly old man in the red suit! Just ask more than 100 would-be Santas who went to school to learn the finer points of Ho-Ho-Hoing at the Charles W. Howard Santa Claus School.

The facility is located in Midland, Michigan and bills itself as the longest continuously running Santa School in the world. It was founded in 1937 and operates as a nonprofit organization. Its students come from all over the world for this three-day seminar. This year's classes were held in October. The mission of the school is to uphold the traditions and preserve the history of Santa Claus.

Santas learn proper dress and use of make-up, get experience for television and radio interviews, learn Santa sign language, talk about live reindeer habits and even practice Santa flight lessons!
