Juvenile in custody after drive-by shooting in Bessemer

Bessemer Police have arrested and charged a juvenile with attempted murder and firing into an occupied vehicle following a drive-by shooting on Monday night.

Berman Edmonds remains in custody after allegedly firing shots from a gold SUV at two subjects inside a parked vehicle on Berkley Avenue, sending one to the hospital with a gunshot wound. Edmonds fled the scene before officers arrived.

The shooting victim was treated at the scene by fire and rescue workers before being transported to the hospital.

The shooting happened at approximately 9:28 p.m.
