      Lane closures tonight on I-65

If the weather is favorable, ALDOT will{}install Raised Reflective Pavement Markers on parts of I-65. {}Work will begin Tuesday, February 5 starting at 8PM on I-65 from the Mt. Olive Road Interchange at Exit 272 in Gardendale to the Jefferson/Blount County Line, near milepost 283.9

"In areas where exit ramps diverge from the travel lanes, the outside (right) lane will be closed in the area of work," Linda Corckett wrote in a news release. "The ramps will remain open to traffic, but will be narrowed to allow adequate space for equipment and personnel to safely perform the work.{} As work is completed in the northbound direction of travel, it will continue in the southbound direction."

Crews will, of course, try to complete the work as quickly as possible. {}The lanes will be reopened to traffic by 5 a.m. each day. {}ALDOT does ask that you use alternate routes, adjust your travel times, be mindful of the speed limits in the work zones and other signs. {}You are also urged to use extreme caution in the work zone area.
