Children in Birmingham got to be around tons of Legos today at the Birmingham Museum of Art.
Lego Duplo hosted "Read! Build! Play!"
The program is designed to promote cognitive skills through playing with Legos. Several "read and build" books allow children to read the book and try to build the characters in them.
Michael Ignaczak, Lego Duplo playmaster said, "Legos start them off early with the colors and the counting and the stacking and from there, their problem solving increases and now with these stories, it's keeping them involved."
If you missed Thursday's Lego Duplo day, don't worry! You have another chance Friday at the McWane Science Center from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
