Leeds couple sentenced in fatal dog attack

A Leeds couple has been sentenced in a September 2012 dog attacked that killed their 83 year old neighbor.{} Jerry and Jacqueline Lenton were sentenced Wednesday in St. Clair County Circuit Court.{} Jerry Lenton pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was given a 10 year split sentence.{} He's ordered to spend a year and one day in prison and five years probation.

Jacqueline Lenton pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide and was given a suspended one year sentence.{} She was also ordered to spend two years on probation.{} Investigators say two of the couple's Rottweilers attacked Don Thomas when he went to check his mail.{} Police shot the two dogs involved in the attack and seized many more from their home.
