BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Limbaugh Toyota, a west Birmingham Toyota and Scion dealership, is set to put in place a new, state-of-the-art facility, owner Bruce Limbaugh announced. This month, Limbaugh Toyota will begin construction on a 40,000-square-foot facility adjacent to the current dealership in the Five Points West community. The $7 million project, which is scheduled to be complete by the spring of 2015, includes an expanded car showroom, service center, and an updated customer lounge. "We are very excited to undertake this new project," Limbaugh said in a release. "This new, state-of-the-art facility is being built t better serve our loyal customers." Limbaugh, who said his business had outgrown the current facilities at 2200 Avenue T, purchased five additional acres of land to facilitate the expansion. The dealership, which first opened in 1989, was enticed to build after Birmingham offered "a package of incentives" to keep its business in the Magic City. Also, according to a release, the project qualified for benefits through the State of Alabama New Market Tax Credit Program. Two local companies -- Lathan Associates Architects and Johnson-Kreis Construction -- have been hired design and construction, respectively, of the project.
