Local pastors respond to Zimmerman verdict

Churches were packed as some people spent the day trying to come to terms with the Zimmerman verdict.

Local pastors emphasized the nation must move forward and says it needs to be in a godly way.

"The overall mood today was one of people looking for biblical direction," says Pastor Steve Green with More Than Conquerors Faith Church.

Pastor Arthur Green with 16th St. Baptist Church says, "We need to realize that even though we are in this 50th year of commemorating the civil rights struggle, that the struggle is not over."

And over at Mountaintop Community Church Pastor Doug Ferguson believes we live in a world and don't have all the answers. "I do think that draws people towards faith," says Ferguson.

Now that the trial is over, local churches and organizations such as the NAACP plan on having a rally Monday at 12pm at Kelly Ingram Park. {}
