Local graduate elected to national leadership team


A Cherokee County graduate will serve as the National FFA Southern Region Vice President for 2012-13. Wiley Bailey is a recent graduate of Sand Rock High School."I am excited about this great opportunity," Bailey says. "To accomplish our goals, the national officer team will have to take time to listen and genuinely care about our member's concerns. My personal goal is to focus on educating more people about the true importance of America's agricultural industry."{}He is now a member of the officer team made up of young people from across the nation. {}According to a news release, they "will lead national leadership workshops for their peers and also help to establish new policies that will guide FFA's long term growth."{}According to current research, one out of every five Americans is employed in the critical food, fiber, and natural resources industries of agriculture.
