Walter Maddox, mayor of the city of Tuscaloosa, is the new president of the Alabama League of Municipalities. Maddox was elected during the League's annual convention in Montgomery.
Maddox is in his second term as Tuscaloosa's mayor. He said, "I am honored to serve the League and the people represented by League members in this capacity. In the months and years ahead, our League must remain strong, vibrant and well-positioned to complete in the race for relevance during this time of monumental economic, social and technological changes."
The Alabama League of Municipalities serves as the voice of more than 440 municipalities.
