Made in the Magic City highlights Birmingham

Ryan Kindahl and Dan King are telling Birmingham's story one video at a time. They are the founders of Made in the Magic City and the local production company 2ThreeFive. Along with partner Steve Ashlee, they are creating videos showcasing Birmingham's artists, musicians,{} small business owners and neighborhoods.Kindahl and King saw the need to promote Birmingham after viewing similar short documentary projects in Muscle Shoals. Their first feature, released June 2013, told the story of up-and-coming Birmingham print house Yellow Hammer Creative.{} Then two more features on Freshfully and Birmingham record label Communicating Vessels. A fourth feature on Alabama Funk art collective was released in January 2014."The series is keeping up that enthusiasm for the great things that are happening and it's bringing people together," Kindahl said. "Everybody's been incredibly supportive because we're all on the same page about what we want this city to be."Made in the Magic City is based in Woodlawn.
