      Madison Academy routs Fayette County 31-7 to win 3A state championship

      Madison Academy won their first ever state title in football today after routing Fayette County 31-7 in the opening game of the Super 6 at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

      Kerryon Johnson earned MVP honors in the game after rushing for 135 yards and scoring three total touchdowns for the Mustangs. He also recorded two interceptions in the game, one of which he returned 68 yards for a score.

      Madison Academy finished the year with a 13-2 record.

      With the loss, Fayette County ended their season 12-3.
