Man accused of holding students at gunpoint to be in court Monday
CHELSEA - AL —
A man charged with kidnapping Chelsea Middle School students and making a terrorist threat will be back in court Monday. Ryan Sims will have a status conference.Sims was recently ordered by a judge to undergo a psychiatric evaluation at the Taylor Hardin Secure Medical Facility. The district attorney requested it because of the nature of his charges.
Sims is accused of holding five Chelsea Middle School students at gunpoint inside the school last February.
Sims is currently in the Shelby County Jail.
