Tuscaloosa Police have charged a 37-year-old man with 17 counts of burglary and one count of robbery.
Police arrested Michael Jones Thursday morning. An officer was in the area of 15th street and Greensboro Avenue when he heard an alarm going off. The alarm only lasted for couple seconds and then it went silent. The officer saw the Waysider Restaurant to investigate further. When he pulled into the parking lot, he saw somebody run from the corner of the business. Officers took Jones into custody near 15th Street and Queen City Avenue. The suspect had pulled the power meter off the building and cut the lines to the restaurant. Investigators were able to charge him with 17 burglaries. He was also charged with the robbery at Soap N Suds last week.
Jones is being held in the county jail.
