Birmingham man, 29, found shot to death in car near Harrison Park

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Police are investigating a homicide after a Birmingham man was found shot to death inside a car near Harrison Park Tuesday night.According to Birmingham Police Lt. Sean Edwards, officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Pearson Avenue SW around 9:36 p.m. on a report of a person shot. Upon arriving, police found 29-year-old Christopher Handley in the driver's seat of his car, suffering from a gunshot wound to the body.Fire and rescue crews were called to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.It is unknown at this time if any suspects are in custody. No arrests have been made.Updated at 9:30 a.m. to include the identity of the victim.
