      Cox Media mourning the loss of 35-year-old promotions assistant

      Friends, loved ones and co-workers of Sam Foster are coming to terms with his untimely passing.{}

      "We're just trying to work through the shock and work through the sadness and know that he'll be missed because he was a tremendous guy," said David Walls, Director of Sales.{}The 35-year-old Promotions Assistant with Cox Media Group's 106.9 The Eagle Birmingham worked for the radio station for nearly six years. He was killed in a car accident on Interstate 459 Tuesday night, just one mile north of Hoover.{}"This was a guy you could depend on. This was a guy that would work when he wasn't feeling well. This was a guy that if anybody needed something would call Sam," said Walls.{}Authorities found Foster's vehicle overturned off the interstate, and Alabama Troopers say he wasn't wearing a seatbelt.{}Staff at Cox Media Group who knew and worked with Foster learned of the devastating news Wednesday morning. Condolences also poured in on Facebook.{}Managers at the station have been in contact with Foster's loved ones and they say they plan to support them during this trying time.{}"My hope is that we'll learn from it, honor him the best way possible, and work to try and take care of his child," said Walls. {}
