A 66-year-old man was arrested Monday after stabbing another man in the chest at the YMCA in downtown Tuscaloosa.
Investigators were called to the scene around 8:20 p.m. on New Year's Eve where they found a 38-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to the chest. The suspect, Larry Travis, was taken to the homicide office for questioning before eventually admitting to the assault. He told investigators he stabbed the man after being hit with a towel.
Travis was charged with Assault II and transported to the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
The victim was transported to DCH to be treated for a collapsed lung, and was expected to stay overnight for observation.
