Married Couple Found Dead In Riverside

Wesley Westcott and Christian Stipes Westcott.

A married Oneonta couple, 20-year-old Wesley Westcott and 18-year-old Christian Stipes Westcott, bodies were found this week in the Riverside area. Police Chief Rick Oliver announced the discoveries Thursday.

Oliver says Wesley Westcott's body was found Wednesday in a pond at the end of West Main Street. Stipes Westcott's body was found Monday near train tracks in Riverside, and she appeared to have been struck by a train, Oliver says.

Police say the discoveries come after a shooting over the weekend that left Wesley Westcott's stepfather Donald Littlefield with leg injuries. Police believe there was a domestic dispute at a house where Littlefield was{}inside at the time on Deer Field Road. After the dispute, the Westcotts left the scene.

Police have since{}been searching for them. Oliver says the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office, the Pell City Police Department, Etowah County Sheriff's Office and other agencies helped in the search.

Oliver says Littlefield is in the hospital recovering from his injuries, and investigators are still looking for the cause of death of Wesley Westcott.
