Matt Kenseth calls NASCAR penalty "grossly unfair"

NASCAR released it's punishment against Matt Kenseth on Wednesday.

The driver released his emotions on Thursday.

Kenseth called the NASCAR penalties "grossly unfair" and "borderline shameful" at{}a scheduled media session at Richmond International Raceway. Nationwide and Sprint Cup races will be run there on Friday and Saturday.

NASCAR hit Kenseth with a 50 point penalty in the standings and crew chief Jason Ratcliffe was suspended for six races and fined $200,000 for failing a post race vehicle{}inspection at Kansas Speedway last week.

It was discovered after Kenseth's win that a connecting rod in the engine of his car weighed 2.7 grams under the minimum requirement.
