Jefferson County sheriff's officials say a McCalla man is being held on $340,000 bond in a series of arsons. Sheriff's spokesman Randy Christian said Monday that 38-year-old Keith Lovoy confessed to being involved in an arson at Bellview Baptist church. Authorities say the man has also been charged in blazes at a vacant nursing home and at a vacant house. Christian says investigators received a tip with Lovoy's name and address after offering a $5,000 reward along with $5,000 being offered from the federal Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives. Christian says Lovoy confessed when deputies went to his house to ask him to come in for questioning. Lovoy is charged with four counts of second degree arson and it's unclear if he has an attorney.
