Mi Pueblo to open larger Homewood location (DELAYED)

Update:The opening of the new Mi Pueblo will be delayed until next week. {}Here is the the news released sent to ABC 33/40:"Due to circumstances beyond our control our Homewood store Grand Opening of Mi Pueblo Supermarket scheduled for Saturday, June 28th has been delayed until next week.{} Our in store promotions will be offered at our Pelham location.{} We apologize for any inconvenience, but we want to make certain all items and restaurant are available to serve our customers.{} We can't wait to serve you and the City of Homewood.{} Please stay tuned for more information.The grand opening of the Homewood location of Mi Pueblo Supermarket is Saturday, June 28, 2014. Owner Joel Rivera says the store is a "multicultural supermarket with fresh meats and poultry, fresh seafood and fish with products from all over the world." Mi Pueblo Supermarket carries products from Mexico, the United States, Central and South America, Asia, Africa, Jamaica, India, Puerto Rico and Columbia. "The first Mi Pueblo Supermarket was in Pelham with 10,000-square-feet. {}That store recently relocated to the 43,200 square feet former Food World location on Pelham Pkwy. Rivera's second location opened in 2009 at 813 Green Springs Hwy, but will now move to the former Food World on Green Springs {}Hwy.{}"We have grown so much that we felt moving our store to a bigger location will help cover the needs of our customers," Rivera says.
