Miami business owner has ties to UA
MIAMI - FL —
In the heart of Coconut Grove, amidst the shops and restaurants, there's one store that is bound to catch any roll tide fan. And, wouldn't you know, inside the shop, the co-owner has ties to the University of Alabama.
"My niece is at Alabama," Lesia Hanson said. "She's a senior this year."
Hanson is with Tervis, which specializes in American made, personalized cups. With Alabama playing next week for the National Championship, she says business has been good.
"[Fans] are excited about it," she said. "They are getting their game on and ready to tailgate."
She says it's difficult to keep Alabama in stock.
"People are actually in town for the long week and they are selling," she said. "They're not just sitting."
And it's not just because of the championship game. Hanson says Alabama is one of the store's best sellers regardless of the time of year.
"Alabama's one of our better sellers on a regular basis anyway," she said. "So, we've probably sold six or eight of each team so far and we have a week to go before the game starts."
