Midfield votes in favor of property tax increase

Midfield residents voted for a 14-mil property tax increase Tuesday during a special election.

The city plans to place the new revenue into its general fund and increase public safety resources.

This was city's first referendum vote on a property tax hike since 1970.

One-hundred seventy-two voted in favor, while 107 were against the tax increase.

      Midfield has 3,186 registered voters.
