Miles College football players taken to hospital

Officials with Miles College, in Fairfield, have confirmed that, on Wednesday, three student/athletes were taken to Trinity Medical Center suffering from heat exhaustion.{}{} Those student/athletes were kept overnight and released Thursday morning.{}

This information conflicts with reports from several sources that more than three players have been taken to the hospital and that one is in critical condition.

Miles College Director of Alumni Affairs and Security, Charles Crockrom, Sr. told ABC 33/40 that "At Miles College, we take the health of all our students seriously, regardless of whether or not they are an athlete."{} Crockrom also added, "Anytime a student requests medical attention we respond immediately, 24/7.{} We take it very seriously."
