Miles College gets best accreditation report yet

Miles College had one more reason to cheer at Thursday's game day pep rally. The college received its best report from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

SACS concluded at the end of its weeklong visit that there were only three out of 84 minor issues. None of them were related to academics.

The college president says he's been working towards this kind of outcome since he took his position in 2005.

We've been working on it for seven years trying to improve ourselves," said Dr. George T. French.

Those areas were related to administrative support, and French{}believes they can easily be corrected by the time{}SACS meets in June to approve accreditation.
