Mobile Police officers to learn punishment after misconduct investigation

It is expected Thursday thattwo Mobile Police officers in the Narcotics and Vice Unit will learn their punishmentfollowing an internal investigation into sexual misconduct charges.{} A Lieutenant within the department is chargedwith failure to supervise.

The investigation beganafter a complaint was filed in 2013 by another Mobile police officer claimingthat there were acts of sexual misconduct by members of the Narcotics and ViceUnit while conducting compliance checks at local adult establishments.

Sufficient evidence was found for violation oflaw enforcement code of ethics, failure to obey a direct order, failure to superviseand misuse of position, among others.

The trial began Tuesday.{} If convicted, punishment could range fromsuspension to termination.
