SHELBY COUNTY, Alabama -- A two-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 North in Shelby County Friday night left one woman dead and sent three others, including a child, to the hospital, Alabama State Troopers said. Natalie Perez, 46, of Montgomery, died around 6:45 p.m. when the 2002 Chevy Trailblazer in which she was one of six occupants, all of whom were not using seat belts, overturned and collided with a 2012 Toyota Camry at mile marker 235, just three miles south of Alabaster. The driver of the Trail Blazer sustained serious injuries and was taken to UAB Hospital. An 8-year-old passenger, who was ejected from the SUV, also suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Children's of Alabama. Their conditions are unknown at this time. The driver of the Camry, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered only minor injuries in the accident. The cause of the wreck hasn't been determined as an investigation remains ongoing.
