More drug arrests in Dekalb County
Arrest 1:Around 3pm Wednesday afternoon, the Ider Police Department was called to the local Dollar General store to respond to a report of shoplifting. During a search of Bobby Ray Hudgens' vehicle, officers discovered syringes and a vial containing what they believed to be methamphetamine.
The Dekalb County Drug Task Force was called, and when they arrived they were able to confirm that the vial did contain methamphetamine. Hudgens was charged with Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance, and he is awaiting bond in the Dekalb County Detention Center.
Hudgens is 58 years old, and he is from Flat Rock, AL.
Arrest 2:Around 9pm Wednesday, 56 year old Bobby Wayne Tidwell of Geraldine was stopped at a license checkpoint when officers noticed a firearm in the floor between his feet. While searching the vehicle, it was found that Tidwell also had methamphetamine and an undisclosed amount on money. The Dekalb County Drug Task Force was notified and confirmed the officers' findings.
Tidwell was charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Illegal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. he was place in the county jail where he awaits bond - the car, money, and gun were all seized.
