More information to be released about fatal UPS plane crash
BIRMINGHAM - AL —
The cause of the fatal UPS plane crash in Birmingham remains under investigation. But more information will be released this week at a hearing in Washington, D.C..Thursday's NTSB hearing will reveal findings from the investigation about the plane that crashed less than a mile short of the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport runway in August. It killed both pilots.
Discussion will include the pilots' approach, their communication, their fatigue and their training. Photographs and interview transcripts will also be released.
The Birmingham bound flight from Louisville crashed in the early morning of August 14, 2013. Only Shanda Fanning and Cerea Beal were aboard. Both died from blunt force injuries.
