More than 120 dogs seized from Alabama home
A Colbert County woman has been charged with animal cruelty after authorities found 129 dogs in her home Tuscumbia home, including four dead dogs.
Sheriff Ronnie May says Debra Jane Catledge was charged with 15 counts of second-degree dog cruelty. On Wednesday authorities removed more than 120 dogs the home. Catledge was arrested the following day.Authorities say most of the dogs were Pomerianians and Yorkshire terriers. Lawyer Billy Underwood represents Catledge. Underwood says his client has never had issues with authorities in the past, even though she's trained and sold dogs for 20 years.
Second-degree dog cruelty is a misdemeanor. Catledge has been released on a $750 bond.The dogs were brought to rescue agencies after being evaluated.
