Movie, "CAMP," premieres next week in Birmingham

Today on Talk of Alabama, Cindy Colvin with Royal Family Kids Camp stopped by to talk about a new movie that shines light on the thousands of children in foster care.

"CAMP" is{}based on Royal Family Kids Camp. The movie tells the story of the real lives of these children. It premires in Birmingham on April 26, 2013, Regal Trussville Stadium 16. You can find the times of showings by calling 205-655-2875.

There are several{}Royal Family Kids Camps in Alabama. The following info was found on the organization's website:

In the state of Alabama, Royal Family KIDS has five camps. We have wonderful volunteers who have dedicated thousands of hours to reach America's orphaned and abandoned children, but in order for us to reach all the kids available to enroll in our program,{}we need 45 camps.

  • Enterprise, Alabama{}(Camp #108){} Enterprise Christian Youth Camp
  • Gardendale, Alabama{}(Camp #197){} Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church
  • Madison, Alabama{}(Camp #131). This camp is directed by Rhonda Montgomery and sponsored by Asbury United Methodist Church. It started in 1998 and is one of our training camps. This camp meets in a unique location - at the University of Northern Alabama Florence (which is where Helen Keller is from). We are so honored to have such dedicated volunteers and staff in Madison!
  • Palmerdale/Pinson, Alabama{}(Camp #218){} Palmerdale United Methodist
  • Tuscaloosa, Alabama{}(Camp #220){} Valley View Baptist Church. Also has a Club/Mentors Program
