Nabers to Head Samford University Ethics Center

Samford University is set to welcome attorney and former Alabama Supreme Court Justice, Drayton Nabers, as its new director of the Mann Center for Ethics and Leadership.{}{} {}Nabers will step into this new role on Jan. 15 at the Baptist-affiliated school. Officials says Nabers was named to replace John Knapp, who resigned last year to become president of a small college in Michigan.{}{} {}Nabers was appointed to the Supreme Court in 2004. He served two years before returning to private practice in 2006. Nabers was also a longtime chief executive of the Birmingham-based Protective Life Corp.

Nabers is already familiar with the university, as he previously taught at Samford's divinity school. He's also the author of two books on ethics and leadership.

Nabers graduate of Princeton University and he earned a law degree at Yale University.
